Accessing online resources

The original Visible Body Human Anatomy Atlas app (web and mobile) will remain available for a while, but we will no longer be issuing login codes for the older version of the app. Note that there is no guarantee that saved data such as notes and favourites will transfer successfully, so those members actively using the older app already may prefer to continue with it for now. Please be aware that the older app is not being actively maintained and its content may be out of date.

Please see our guide on the Visible Body Suite for more information.

The website

If you are not already logged into the RCS England website, please log in and then visit Visible Body. This link should log you in to the Visible Body site automatically, and you can find similar direct links on the Surgical Library website, and on the Visible Body section within the Library webpages.

If you arrive by another route, you may need to login to Ovid. Please follow the instructions for logging into Ovid journals.

If you are already within the Ovid system, using either our journals or the databases, you can select Visible Body from the navigation bar at the top of the webpage:

The mobile app

Please note that we are no longer issuing codes for the Visible Body Human Anatomy Atlas mobile app.

Getting help with online resources

If you're having problems, we are here to help. You can get assistance through any of the following means:

  • Email: library.athens@rcseng.ac.uk - we will usually respond with one working day
  • Telephone: 020 7869 6556 - the line is open between 9 am and 5 pm, Monday to Friday, excluding UK public holidays and College closure days
  • In person: members are welcome to visit the Library in person for assistance, and appointments can be arranged for in-person enquiries - please see the Library pages on the College website for more information.

It does help us if you can provide your College membership number with your enquiry - this will be on your membership page in the College website and on any personal communications sent by the College.
