Accessing online resources

MyAthens is a simple website provided by the OpenAthens service. It allows you to check you are logged in to the system successfully and to view your OpenAthens account details. It also provides a link to sign out of OpenAthens completely.

Logging into MyAthens

My Athens can be found at my.openathens.net/. To make life a little easier, there are two links to MyAthens on the Account page at the College website, one in the side menu, and one in the Resources gallery towards the bottom of the page:

MyAthens may present you with a login form. Ignore the Find your institution section and click on Sign in with an OpenAthens account:

Identifying the Account Provider

If you are having trouble accessing an e-resource, it may be that you are logged into the wrong OpenAthens account. You can check this in MyAthens, by checking the account provider. This will be at top left in the desktop view:

Or can be viewed by clicking on the button with your initials at top right on mobile:

Getting help with online resources

If you're having problems, we are here to help. You can get assistance through any of the following means:

  • Email: library.athens@rcseng.ac.uk - we will usually respond with one working day
  • Telephone: 020 7869 6556 - the line is open between 9 am and 5 pm, Monday to Friday, excluding UK public holidays and College closure days
  • In person: members are welcome to visit the Library in person for assistance, and appointments can be arranged for in-person enquiries - please see the Library pages on the College website for more information.

It does help us if you can provide your College membership number with your enquiry - this will be on your membership page in the College website and on any personal communications sent by the College.
